  • Have a look around

    ...here you will find my life. I have found that the wonderful thing about a blog is that it has become a place for me to document my own life, while I document your's.

    My name is Mandi, and it is my passion to capture life's moments. From the cry of a newly born baby, to the happy tears of an adoption story, all the way to senior portraits that won't go out of style. Behind the camera, I prefer to capture the moments and not create them. I will offer suggestions and be available to you along the way so that you get the most out of your custom portrait experience. On the other side of the lens, I simply love life. I have an amazing family, wonderful friends, and can often be seen reading or crocheting (yep, I have a little old lady down deep in my soul!)

    Take a few minutes to check out my blogsite, catch up on the goings-on of a photographer from little ol' Centralia, and look at some pictures. If you are interested in a portrait session, all the necessary information can be found at the top or the bottom of the page. Contact me via the form, at info@mandimcdougallphotography.com, or at 360.827.1609.

    Real. Life. Captivating.

Day 18 {Delaney’s 3rd Photo-a-Day}

{Another year, another Photo-a-Day month! It is hard to believe she is three, and at the same time she most definitely has grown and changed a ton over the last year! I borrowed this idea from Kerianne Brown, a fantastic photographer.}

My little parrot, the latest thing you’ve learned from your brother is a deep-voiced, long drawn out “Duuuuuuude!”

Day 17 {Delaney’s 3rd Photo-a-Day}

Your dad and I certainly parent differently. You fancy yourself quite the Princess in charge of life around here lately, and have a very strong will. More times than I might like, you show your unhappiness by stomping your foot. Several months ago, I came downstairs and you were screaming… face to face with your Dad, stomping your foot. You would stomp, and then stop, and then he would say “no Delaney, don’t STOMP your footie… tap it” and then he would tap his toes on the ground. And you would scream and stomp your foot, and this continued on. I think eventually I carted your screaming behind off for a timeout, but not before having a chuckle and appreciating how your dad was dealing with your strong will. He’s always been good at helping you guys take that first step toward doing something yourself (he’s ALWAYS the first to hand you or your brother a task I think you’re too young for – and yet you always are safe and manage quite fine!), including knowing how to manage your emotions. Fast forward to today, “tap your footie” has become a little joke/game between the two of you.

Day 16 {Delaney’s 3rd Photo-a-Day}

Thank goodness for Doc Mc Stuffins (or as you call her, Stuffins)! You normally scream through your whole doctor’s appointments (and sometimes brother’s!) but today you took along your doctor kit that Memaw and Papa got you and you were happy to show off your tools to the nurse, Dr and med student! You even made it through a shot with no tears!!

Day 15 {Delaney’s 3rd Photo-a-Day}

You’re newest thing in the bath is lining up all of these cups (one of which inevitably falls over onto the floor) and filling them to the brim with water from your squeeze toys, and then trying to sell them to me as juice. I love watching your concentration!

Day 14 {Delaney’s 3rd Photo-a-Day}

You know that saying, “Messy Hair Don’t Care”? Well let’s just say that your hair matches your personality is that it is big and wild and you can’t help but love it. Tonight I wanted to capture our new nightly ritual at bedtime, where we are all sweet and snuggle but you wanted to play and be crazy and then give me dozens of open mouth slobber-kisses. So here is to 3 and this new stage of life – to my sweet girl who has been wishing me a “Happy Mama’s Day” all week! Not any other way I’d rather end this day!
