Weekend Away: Mansfield – Centralia/Olympia, Washington Photographer

Kris comes from a teeny town in Eastern Washington: Mansfield. The first time I ventured over the mountain passes to visit him at Christmas, I was terrified. I am now a better snow driver, but I’m far from great. I think that is why I love the summer months over there….the sun, the warmth, and most of all, the atmosphere. Wheat fields that glow gold, as far as the eye can see, fresh fruit everywhere…ahh.

This is my Mother in Law’s delish blueberry coffeecake. mmmm.

Saturday afternoon Kris and I took our godson, David, to Slide Waters in Chelan. We had a good time, although he’s not a huge fan of the waterslides (he’s more a hot tub kinda kid, it turns out)

On Sunday Kris, myself and his parents ventured into Wenatchee for an afternoon of fun (and warm weather, it turned out). We hit Walmart, Starbucks, then saw Get Smart and had dinner at our favorite restaurant, The Cottage Inn.

Ali - I think my absolute favorite is the one of the entire field. It is something I could imagine looking at every day, and just feeling…. peaceful.July 24, 2008 – 2:14 pm
