Lisa & Shay {MARRIED}

I’ve known Lisa for almost as long as I can remember – I believe we were in the same first grade class, and somewhere she might have a class picture of me wearing a mini skirt and/or stirrup pants?! History like that makes it easy to have a ball photographing someone’s big day! The day was gorgeous, at every turn I noticed another detail that was spot on – including the venue (The LOFT, Chehalis), which is definitely one of my favorites! I am thrilled that these two have met their match, and so cannot wait to see what lies in their future!

My Top 10 of 2015 {#1}

{I have decided to show and tell my favorite shots from 2015….often the pictures that grip me are not the picture-perfect poses, but the images that tell a story…}

There is not much I hold more dear than documenting my kiddos as they grow. It is what continues to spark my passion as a photographer, and I am thankful for it. BUT – being able to witness this sweet little girl’s arrival and her life since then is definitely one of those things. For the rest of my life, I will remember the day I sat across the table and her mama handed me the piece of paper that said she was, indeed, pregnant. I’m sure I probably cried, and smiled and gushed. Rainbow babies have a way of doing that to you, I think. The sunshine after the rain. The sliver of hope when all seems lost.

And then you came tumbling into our world, full of joy, big giant smiles and rolls – oh baby, do you have the best squishy rolls I’ve ever laid eyes on. Aunt Manda is smitten, that’s for sure!

Picking only a few pictures for this was hard. This dark haired, long-lashed beauty just radiates life and joy (and a opinions, boy does she have those!) It’s definitely bittersweet to look back at these from just over 6 months ago and wonder if I was blinking when my baby disappeared and the current temper tantrum throwing toddler arrived?! I think THAT is why I find such personal satisfaction in this job, being able to document fleeting moments so that when the road gets tough, or the scenery changes, we can remember and hold dear what was. I am definitely looking forward to this coming year’s month of pictures!

You know I can’t do a Top 10 without sharing my favorites from Landon’s Picture a Day that I do every February! Seriously, these are some of my favorite pictures of life because they capture the everyday and celebrate it, as well as showing how much my favorite little man has changed and grown!

{I have decided to show and tell my favorite shots from 2015….often the pictures that grip me are not the picture-perfect poses, but the images that tell a story…}

Our group of friends was blessed with a few new babies this year, and Miss Elizabeth Jean was one of them! Fitting, as the first time I met her mama was at her maternity session with big brother Jace. This magical field of purple flowers was the perfect setting for their maternity session. Then, best made plans be darned, little Lizzie made her middle of the night entrance at home, without letting me get there to capture it on camera! Never fear, I did make it to the hospital to capture that wrinkly, squishy newborn goodness! Those toes = I die!
