Day 28 {LANDON in FEBRUARY} 2014

{Four years ago I decided to take at least one picture a day of Landon, for the whole month of February in celebration of his birth month. I borrowed this idea from Kerianne Brown, a fantastic photographer. I have done it for three years now, and the compilation of pictures has become one of my most cherished possessions.}

Today we took a little trip with Grandma to the hospital to see Delaney. All is well, she was just a stinker last time around so we needed a few more images. (She wasn’t much better this time around!) You were so very well behaved and patient, and I think you even enjoyed getting to see her move around on the screen. You were most impressed with her feet, which she had positioned right in front of her face! I am very excited for you to be a big brother – you already talk about how you are excited to give her a bath and feed her, and help out (as long as no one mentions changing her diaper – that you’ve made it clear you are NOT helping with!) I know that without my brothers and sister, I would be lost, and I hope that you and Delaney have that same sort of relationship someday.

Joy. That’s about the best word I can use to describe what you bring into our lives. Sure, there is also a fair share of challenge, attitude, ornery, cute, sweet… but mostly, you bring those around you joy simply with your presence. (And lest everyone think you behave well simply because you a cute, the winning phrase that got this reaction? Poopy pants! But these days I’m not above pandering to your four-year-old sense of humor for a good picture!)

Today Uncle Jimmy, Grandma and I took you out to lunch for your birthday. You chose Burger King, probably as much for the play place as the fries. And with those fries, your favorite: sauce. Lots and lots of sauce. I suppose if there is a day that having 5 cups of sauce is okay, it’s your birthday!

You were excited to take your new bike to school today (it’s bike month and you’ve had your trike there to ride at recess) but first you needed to learn how to ride it. The weather has been so icky we haven’t had you outside to try it out, so I gave you a little lesson before we headed to preschool. I don’t think you quite got it down 100%, but I’m sure you will be cruising the streets of Galvin before we know it!

Tonight has been a rough one. You are still recovering from your cold, and perhaps because of that it seems your ears (and your brain?) were not really into listening to mama tonight. Then on top of being a bit of a tired stinker, you went into the other room and came back crying because you ran into a table and have a little owie next to your eye. Nothing mama snuggles can’t fix, but not a great end to our evening.
