Day 29 {LANDON in FEBRUARY} 2012

{Last year I decided to take at least one picture a day of Landon, for the whole month of February in celebration of his birth month. I borrowed this idea from Kerianne Brown, a fantastic photographer. I did it for the month of February last year, and it was one of my favorite things I did all year long. I am excited to do it again this year!}

Being that today is Leap Day, I figured your picture should match the day! And, we got just lucky enough that you woke up from your nap happy while it was snowing, so we dressed you and ran outside for a little fun in the freezing cold snow! You’ve always been my snow kid, so this was the perfect way to end this year’s Photo-a-Day!

You are one lucky little boy. Not only did Uncle Jimmy deck out your second birthday party in true Yo Gabba Gabba style, but he also sent you a Brobee pillow that is AS TALL as you are! You are in love, dragging that thing around the house and even outside today! I just love the look on your face, how happy you are. It’s good to be two!

This morning upon arriving at Granny and Pop’s house, you took a seat at the bar in the kitchen and loudly announced you wanted the pens. So you got them. I always marvel at how much fun you have there, and I hear reports that you are a total angel, never cry or throw fits, and I can see why! When you are at Granny and Pop’s house, the rules are a little different.  And I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I LOVE this family picture. It’s been way too long since we’ve taken one, even a snapshot. It amazes me how much you have changed in 6 months!

What a wonderful birthday you had… hanging out at home playing, then going to Granny and Pop’s house for your big birthday! And what a party it was! You could not have had more fun, playing with your friends, opening so many awesome presents and hanging out with our great family! I can’t help but think back to two years ago, spending a pretty frightening, sleepless and exciting night waiting for you to show up, and the next foggy day getting to know you. We had a little of a rough start, not quite what I had imagined, but thankfully you are past all of that being a peanut stuff, and you are now a 24-month clothes wearing, wall-climbing, silly, energetic little man who can count to three, identify a triceratops by name, and adores pretty much anything that resembles a blankie.

When we arrive at the grocery store, you expect two things: to see Grandma, and to get a cookie (and sometimes a treat from Grandma AND a cookie!) I am happy to say you thus-far have good manners, always saying Thank you to the bakery gal or guy who gives you a cookie, sometimes 8-10 times as we walk away. For a while you were on a turkey treat and your snack of choice was some deli turkey, but you’ve gone back to cookies and you thoroughly enjoy your cookie while mom shops.
