Portraits of Love

If you keep up with the blog, you know that my brother is currently in Afghanistan, serving with the Fighting 40, a courageous group of Seabees in the US Navy. My family is very close, and having him away from home has not been an easy transition for us. That said, we have never been more proud of him and the sacrifices he is making for our country. My thanks and gratitide goes farther than just my brother; I am thankful to each solidier and sailor, each husband, wife and child that makes our great country what it is, and helps to defend our freedom.

As a way to say thank you this holiday season, I am participating in Portraits of Love, sponsored by PMDA. There is more information about the program at http://www.pmdaportraitsoflove.com/families.php, but I can tell you that I am offering a free session to any family who would like to send a free portrait to their loved one who is serving overseas. This is in addition to the 15% military discount I give every single day, as a small token of my appreciation.

If you are interested in having your portrait taken during Portraits of Love, please contact me at info@mandimcdougallphotography.com or 360.827.1609

And because no post is complete without a picture, one of my recent favorites of my brother.

Sneak Peek: The Madsen’s {FAMILY}

Fall is in the air (or is that winter!) and our local pumpkin patches are in full swing! There is a lot of fun to be had at Schilter Family Farm in Nisqually; hay rides, little buggy rides for the kids, roasted corn, spiced apple cider, a corn AND a hay maze, and pumpkins as far as the eye can see! When I arrived there today with the Madsen family, we were lucky enough that the rain was just passing by, and the sun even came out for us. I love the fall feel to these pictures, and have I mentioned yet how adorable these kiddos are?!

Faith and Phillip, thank you for your service to our country. I had a blast today!

Sneak Peek: Jessica {SENIOR}

I love photographing seniors with personality…those who know who they are and what they love. And sassy senior girls? Yes, please. Country girls with saddles and pink plaid shirts? Of course. Jessica? All of those things!

Jessica, thanks for choosing me to rock out your pictures!

Sneak Peek: The Ross’ {FAMILY}

Get ready for cuteness overload! Jennifer’s two little cuties were so good for me today! Isn’t Harli the most darling red head you’ve ever seen? I called her Miss Harli, and at the end of the session she showed me to the door and said “goodbye, Miss Manda”. What a sweetie! And what about the irresistible chunk in the tux?! How cute is the tux, let alone the baby IN the tux!

Jennifer and crew, thanks for having me up today to capture these great pictures!

Sneak Peek: Treasa {MATERNITY}

One of the only things more special than photographing a newborn is photographing a maternity session….the connection between a mama and her baby, long before she’s even brought the new life into the world. I love the stories that Treasa told me about how they came up with their little guy’s name, Josiah Emmanuel, and about her adorable 2 year old’s interactions with her unborn but much loved brother. I love the freedom studio maternity sessions provide, but the connection between a flourishing pregnant woman and the outdoors has captured my love lately.

Treasa, you are a beautiful pregnant woman, and I know that you will be blessed with an adorable little miracle!
