new offering: Deluxe Mini Sessions {with Digital Images}

As the end of the year approaches, I always start to look back on the last year and make some tweaks to improve my business. Sometimes that means changing packages, raising prices or finding awesome new products to offer my clients. This year I am making one change a little earlier (the rest will debut in January).

I am adding Deluxe Mini Sessions to my year-round session offerings. A Deluxe Mini Session includes a 25 minute session for up to 4 people, 8-10 edited proofs presented in a password protected online gallery, and all of your proofs on CD with reprint release (sized to print up to 11×14). Deluxe Mini Sessions are perfect for getting new Christmas card images, an update of your children’s yearly portraits, or a quick senior session. Deluxe Mini Sessions are $250 plus tax, can be booked on any open date, must be done in the Centralia area, include no outfit changes and cannot be booked for newborns.

To book a session, please contact me (above) or give me a call!

Sneak Peak: Desiree {SENIOR}

I have known Desiree for a long time…first we went to church together, and I used to babysit her and her brother what seems like many moons ago, and for the last few years our brothers have played baseball together. It was COLD out during our quick session this morning…it was only 50 degrees, but the wind killed! And even though it was an uber short session, Desi did awesome (she is a pretty big deal, after all) and we got some great shots!

As long as I can remember, Desi always wears her hair up…not today! And I love it.

This is a favorite of mine, look at the girl’s gorgeous eyes!

This picture looks right out of an early 90′s grunge scene…

Another favorite! This wall rocks my socks off, every time without fail!

Desi, I hope you enjoy! I can’t wait to get together again on a slightly less chilly day and shoot some more!

Sneak Peek: Taylor {SENIOR}

I love the connections I am able to make through my photography. Taylor’s mom knew me as a little girl; she was a good friend of my aunt, waaay back (smile) in high school. Through the magic of facebook, she connected with me and came down for her son’s senior session. I didn’t know much about Taylor going in, but I can happily say now that he’s a laid back guy, with a good sense of humor and a great sense of style!

I love this one! His mom liked the train track pictures from past sessions, and I hope she loves the ones we got!

Taylor_seniorsession_02

Usually senior guys give me a run for my money, but Taylor even cooperated and smiled without complaint!

Taylor_seniorsession_03

I <3 this one!

Taylor_seniorsession_04

A little different, but this picture is totally my style!

Taylor_seniorsession_05

Taylor and Larisa, thanks SO much for coming down and choosing me to do Taylor’s senior pictures! I can’t wait to show you the rest!

Be sure and add a comment below to help Taylor win a free 8×10!

Sneak Peek: Ava {LITTLE WONDER}

This is the second time I have photographed Ava. The first time last fall she was just a little thing, with the cutest spiky hair I’d ever seen! Talk about a cutie (who obivously has a well-stocked closet!) She has such a sweet demeanor for her age, talks a bunch and is all about double high-fives.

Ava_childsession_01

This time Ava brought along her grandparents for a few pictures (and perhaps one for Grandma’s wall)

Ava_childsession_02

Will you look at this adorable-ness? I adore her outfit, Katie!

Ava_childsession_03

This is her smile, I love the mischevious look in her eyes!

Ava_childsession_04

Outfit #2, about as perfect for fall photos as could be!

Ava_childsession_05

Peek-A-Boo!

Ava_childsession_06

And we finished the session downtown, capturing the very last of the fading light…perfect!

 Katie, Jim and Ava, thanks for coming down for such a fun (and cold) session! Your little girl is growing up so fast, and she is SO cute! I can’t wait to show you the rest!

Be sure and add a comment below to help Ava’s family win a free 8×10!

Giving is Awesome {2010}

Last year I had the pleasure of participating in a world-wide photography giveaway, dubbed Giving is Awesome. I had so much fun reading the stories that came in, and ultimately giving away $1000 worth of photography to a deserving family!

So, welcome to 2010 Giving is Awesome!

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography – $1300 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $250 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Washington. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : mandiraemcdougall@gmail.com or add a comment to this blog post.

All nominations must be in by December 20th, and the winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.
