Weekend Away: Mansfield – Centralia/Olympia, Washington Photographer

Kris comes from a teeny town in Eastern Washington: Mansfield. The first time I ventured over the mountain passes to visit him at Christmas, I was terrified. I am now a better snow driver, but I’m far from great. I think that is why I love the summer months over there….the sun, the warmth, and most of all, the atmosphere. Wheat fields that glow gold, as far as the eye can see, fresh fruit everywhere…ahh.

This is my Mother in Law’s delish blueberry coffeecake. mmmm.

Saturday afternoon Kris and I took our godson, David, to Slide Waters in Chelan. We had a good time, although he’s not a huge fan of the waterslides (he’s more a hot tub kinda kid, it turns out)

On Sunday Kris, myself and his parents ventured into Wenatchee for an afternoon of fun (and warm weather, it turned out). We hit Walmart, Starbucks, then saw Get Smart and had dinner at our favorite restaurant, The Cottage Inn.

Lovin’ this summer – Centralia/Olympia, Washington Photographer

Tonight at work we had an impromptu photo session. How cute are these kids? Very cute. Very very cute.

This is Darion…

…he was being pretty serious.

This is the resident ham of the family.

Her name is Jade.

She is a ham, but she’s also so so stunning.

I mean, come on. Look at those eyes.

And cute.

Maybe stunningly cute.

This is Christian.

He was kickin’ back and enjoying the nice summer evening.

Look at that smile!

He looks a bit goofy in this one…he can’t see me without his glasses…but I love the expression on his face!

This is how much he loves his mom…

What could be more symbolic of summer than dirty bare feet in the grass, and some sunflare?

Fourth of July Weekend – Centralia/Olympia, Washington Photographer

We had a busy but fun weekend.

On Thursday night I got into the baking mood. I started with two layers of lemon cake, filled with lemon curd, topped with cream cheese frosting, raspberries and blueberries.

Then, for no particular reason, I ventured into making coconut cupcakes. I made cupcakes that couldn’t have been more coconutty if I tried…coconut milk in the cupcake batter, along with shredded coconut and coconut extract. Coconut extract in the frosting, and topped them off with a ton of coconut! I have four cupcake pans, and no patience, so I made one pan of HUGEMONGO cupcakes, and one half pan of regular size ones…made for a funny lookin’ platter!

These are our new housemates: Josie and Milo. My sister’s cat had a litter of kittens, and we got to bring two home yesterday.

Josie is crazy…

…to Milo’s mellow.

And to finish off, here are a few images from my underwater camera housing. I am excited to use it in Mexico, and while we had hot weather a few weekends back, we did a trial run!

This is Isabel…my darlin’ little niece!

This is Alec, her little bro…he was a stinker that day!

New Storyboard Template: Family Tree – Centralia/Olympia, Washington Photographer

We all come from somewhere…whether we readily admit it or not :)

I love the quote on this storyboard, because it is my hope for all of the families I photograph! If you have had a session in the past and would like to order this storyboard, please contact me.

Images of our new housemates, swimmin’ in the pool and my holiday baking efforts coming soon!
