Melissa & Drew {couples portraits}

Because sometimes, you just can’t help yourself.

That’s how I felt – one of my favorite places in the whole entire world with two of the most genuine, sweet, fun people I know. It’s not often I get two people in front of my camera who are so gorgeous, so carefree and so much in love. I will forever love Melissa for all of the little things – like crawling across the floor during my wedding to straighten my train (I, on the other hand fell coming up the aisle in her’s…). I love working for my clients, but getting to take pictures like this for those near and dear to me is always the best!

Kennedy {family beach portraits}

The first time I met this family, their little guy was a little less mobile! And what better place to chase him around and get great pictures of them than the beach! We met on a beautiful weekend, as luck would have it, in Ocean Shores. The light was great, and there is something magical about the sun and sand, and spending time together as a family.

Montante {seabrook family session}

Katie, Jim and Ava are one of my favorite families to photograph, and Seabrook happens to be one of my favorite idyllic getaway spots in Washington. Put them together, and you have one happy photographer, one happy family, and some super fun, memorable photographs! {sidenote: these pictures are the first of several mostly indoor, lifestyle sessions I have coming up on the blog. I LOVE capturing families outdoors year-round, but want to offer an alternative for families with little ones who prefer the comforts of home OR a family that wants to capture an typical day-in-the-life with their always growing and changing family. These sessions take place during the morning and early afternoon hours, and can be centered around a meal, family activities like board games, or just hanging out doing what your family enjoys. Although mostly indoor, we can certainly step outside to your backyard or in your neighborhood for some shots as you will see below. And if your family would rather capture your stay-cation, like this family did? I travel, happily!}

Katie and company, thank you so much for letting me come out

My Top 10 of 2011 {#8}

{I have decided to show and tell my favorite shots from 2011….often the pictures that grip me are not the picture-perfect poses, but the images that tell a story…}

If this isn’t your typical 5 year old boy, I’m not sure what is! We had a blast at the beach with his family, but this is my favorite image of just him, running around and showing off his skills!
