My Top 10 of 2016 {#9}

{I have decided to show and tell my favorite shots from 2016….often the pictures that grip me are not the picture-perfect poses, but the images that tell a story…}

Getting out of the norm for sessions is always a ton of fun – add snow to the mix and this adorable couple and I’m sold! I love how Kendra and Riley’s engagement session turned out and can’t wait for their wedding this fall!

Reghan + Jonathan {Chehalis Wedding}

What a gorgeous day we had for their wedding! I’ve had a great time getting to know Reghan and Jonathan, and one of the things that struck me about their wedding was the caliber of people that surrounded them on their special day and worked hard to make their wedding happen! You can definitely tell a lot about a couple by the company they keep, and in this case the day was full of love and fun from all directions!

LOVE this fireplace inside Bethel Church!

How cute are these robes Reghan got for her bridal party?!

A stolen moment during their First Look

Simply perfect! Reghan, you were one gorgeous bride!

the full bridal party – love that the girls wore print dresses and the guys wore bow ties!

I mean…. just so cute!

I will be the first to admit that most photographer would rather shoot in a pretty outdoor venue with natural light – but there was definitely something about the feel of this sanctuary that I appreciated!

Finally, the first kiss! Woo-hoo!

The happily married couple!

First dance as husband and wife <3

the gorgeous (and tasty!) wedding cake

I really loved their bubble exit from the first reception! (Yes, I said first reception! Reghan and Jonathan decided to have a big cake and punch reception at the church right after the wedding, and a smaller reception with dancing and food after that!)

What will a photographer do when given an extra hour in between wedding festivities with a bride and groom?! MORE PICTURES!

Thank you Reghan and Jonathan (and families!) for such a wonderful day! I wish you many years of happiness!

Jessica + Kain {Country and Lace Wedding}

It’s not every day that you get to shoot a wedding on your own anniversary! And to be honest, I wouldn’t do that for just any couple – but getting to know Jessica and Kain over the last year, it was a day well spent! They picked the most gorgeous venue, Country and Lace in Toldeo – and the owner, Michelle, insured that no detail was overlooked! Jessica and Kain have such a sweet love story, it really was my pleasure to spend their magical day capturing all the details!

A gorgeous gown and the perfect spot to show it off!

I have a weakness for Willow Tree figurines, so of course I loved their cake!

Jessica told Kain no kisses before the wedding, but he did his best to convince her otherwise!

We had such great weather! Look at how perfect they look, too!

I love Jessica’s tattoo – in memory of her grandparents.

BOOTS! Perfect footwear for a country wedding!

…a little stolen kiss, or not?!

See, told you this barn is incredible!

Beautiful blue skies for the ceremony

The first kiss! Finally married!

Loved their first dance

Their gorgeous rings, so pretty and unique!

Oh, yes. The cake smash. His handful mostly ended up in her mouth, while he wore her’s….

So when I asked them to have a little kiss, he made up for it!

The picture-perfect end to such a great day! Congratulations Jessica and Kain!

Estes {Montana family portraits}

About 6 weeks ago we had the opportunity to vacation in Montana for my cousin’s wedding – and while I was there I happened to shoot two sessions for a dear client/friend of mine! I just love Jen, and her family is no different! Jen and Lee are blessed with four beautiful, sweet daughters and while we dodged quite a storm that night there was no shortage of gorgeous pictures and laughs!

I loved getting to shoot at their house! We were able to incorporate some of their favorite details, like this wagon wheel and sign.

I LOVED the fence that lined their driveway! What a picturesque site to wake up to each and every day!

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again – I’m a sucker for sibling shots!

A little wind, some tag-alongs and those horses in the back…. this is their life!

Jen and her girls <3 them!

My Top 10 of 2014 {#9}

{I have decided to show and tell my favorite shots from 2014….often the pictures that grip me are not the picture-perfect poses, but the images that tell a story…}

I set out to do some for-me photography in 2014, and one of those sessions featured Katy, who is a local military wife. It was wonderful to spend the evening with her and her super adorable daughter, hear their story and capture some gorgeous images that I hope celebrates not only their love and sacrifice but the dedication of military families everywhere.
