Day 10 {LANDON in FEBRUARY}

{Here we are – hard to believe I’ve been doing this for six years! I got my start doing this six years ago when I decided to take at least one picture a day of Landon, for the whole month of February in celebration of his birth month. I borrowed this idea from Kerianne Brown, a fantastic photographer. Over the last six years, this compilation of pictures has become one of my most cherished possessions.}

It has been really fun to watch your abilities grow by leaps and bounds since starting school last fall! Watching you learn how to write, count, do letter sounds, and now recognize sight words – definitely teaching you those things is not my strong suit, and I will forever be indebted to Mrs. Dennison for the kind, loving but firm way she teaches you every day! I love the little nuances to the way you write and count. You can see that when there were extra letters, you just stuck them below. Also, for some reason this year in your counting you kept skipping 13 and 14. It took us a few weeks of breaking that habit, but I can happily say now that your counting includes 13 and 14!

We are working hard each and every day on your sight words. I definitely get a kick out of the ones you know instantly (come and see are two of your favorites) and the ones that your brain refuses to learn, even a few weeks in (like and and the).

May 23 {Delaney’s first Photo-a-Day}

{It has started friends: Delaney’s first Photo-a-Day month! I am excited to document what being almost one looks like for this feisty little girl! I started this with Landon and now it is Delaney’s turn! I borrowed this idea from Kerianne Brown, a fantastic photographer.}

I hear a lot how much you look like me, and that doesn’t surprise me being that your brother looks so much like my brothers, but looking at this picture was one of the first times our similarities have really jumped out at me. I think it’s also your expression – I’m glad that I got some DNA in the mix, even if you have your daddy’s big brown eyes and LONG dark lashes!

LAUNCHING Fresh 48 sessions!!

Finally, ready to start taking bookings for these! Only accepting a few of these each month, so the time to get on my calendar is before your little bundle of joy arrives! Call, email or message me for more details!

First 4 sessions booked will get a 50% portfolio-building discount!

Fresh | 48

Perfect for those prefer not to have their whole birth story documented, these 45-60 minute sessions capture all those little details of your new bundle of joy within their first 24-48 hours. For hospital births, we arrange a time before you leave for me to stop in – in most cases, it can be arranged that this also includes older siblings’ first time meeting baby, too. For home or birth center births, I will come to your home for the session, usually the next day.

Fresh | 48 sessions are:

-short and sweet, just long enough to capture the newness of baby

-more lifestyle than posed

-focuses on those details that change so fast (toes being my personal favorite) as well as your bonding and connection with baby

-take place during daylight hours

-includes all edited images as a digital download with a print release

What this session is not: a traditional posed, styled newborn session. Those take place in my studio when baby is between 5-12 days old.

I take on a limited number of Fresh | 48 sessions per month, so please contact me before delivering (if possible) to get your due date on my calendar!

Day 10 {LANDON in FEBRUARY} 2015

{Five years ago I decided to take at least one picture a day of Landon, for the whole month of February in celebration of his birth month. I borrowed this idea from Kerianne Brown, a fantastic photographer. Over the last five years, this compilation of pictures has become one of my most cherished possessions.}

This year we started a new chapter in your life: organized sports. You started out this summer easing in with swimming lessons (which you loved), then tackled soccer (or didn’t tackle anything, as it was) and now we’ve moved on to gymnastics (with T-Ball coming soon!) You really seem to enjoy yourself, and you do fairly well, when you stop moving long enough to listen to your coach.
